KL Talent Solutions is proud to be representing our client in their search for a fleet co-ordinator in their northamptonshire site. The Fleet Co-ordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and efficient operation of the company fleet, ensuring vehicles, drivers, and transport activities support production and customer delivery requirements. The role combines transport planning, compliance, and hands-on operational support within a busy manufacturing and distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate daily fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling and driver allocation.
· Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant legislation (DVSA, tachographs, drivers’ hours, and vehicle compliance)
· Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and production to ensure timely collections and deliveries
· Monitor vehicle condition, arrange servicing, MOTs, inspections, and defect reporting
· Maintain accurate fleet records, including vehicle documentation, licences, and compliance checks
· Support loading and unloading operations as required, ensuring safe working practices
· Manage external transport providers when needed to cover peak demand
· Investigate and resolve delivery or transport-related issues promptly
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, cost control, and service levels
· Promote a strong health & safety culture across fleet and transport operations
Skills & Experience
Essential:
· Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
· Experience in a fleet, transport, or logistics coordination role
· Good working knowledge of transport compliance and driver regulations· Strong organisational and planning skills
· Confident communicator with the ability to work across departments· Competent IT skills (transport systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools)
Desirable:
· Forklift Counterbalance licence (training can be provided if not held)
· Experience within a manufacturing or trade supply environment
· Familiarity with vehicle maintenance scheduling and defect management
· CPC qualification or working knowledge of CPC requirements
