Description

Are you passionate about food production and keen on leading a dynamic team to deliver top-quality products? Our client is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to join their food manufacturing site in the Stockton-on-Tees area. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the production process, ensure efficiency, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Position Overview: As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, from planning and scheduling to ensuring efficient operations and maintaining product quality. This is a hands on, factory floor role and you will lead a team of production staff, manage resources effectively, and work closely with other departments to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimising resource utilisation.
  • Supervise and motivate production staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, implementing best practices for food manufacturing.
  • Monitor production processes to identify and resolve issues that may impact efficiency or product quality.
  • Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports for performance analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of food production processes, quality control, and safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing production challenges.
  • Proficient in using production planning and management software/tools.
  • Good understanding of budgeting and cost control principles.

Please be aware that this is not a Mon-Fri 9-5 position and does include weekend working.
