Description

Our client is a reputable civil engineering company covering the Northeast, Yorkshire, and Humber areas. With a strong focus on delivering superior quality and efficiency, their expertise spans various aspects of civil engineering, including Remediation, Roads & Sewers, Retaining Structures, Plot Works, & External Finishing. They are currently in search of a full-time Quantity Surveyor to enhance their successful Commercial Team based at the head office in Teesside.

The ideal candidate will be offered a competitive, market-driven compensation package. Responsibilities for this role include:

- Collaborating on the assessment and pricing of tender packages as needed.
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of monthly applications.
- Cross-checking client payments with applications and furnishing debtors' status to the Commercial Director, with proactive steps to mitigate outstanding accounts.
- Oversight of subcontract packages, including management and payments for on-site labor and equipment teams.
- Compiling monthly financial reports for commercial leads.
- Precise pricing, negotiation, and agreement on contractual modifications with clients.
- Simultaneous management of multiple projects.
- Active participation in site meetings and close collaboration with project teams.
- Providing mentorship and support to fellow members of the Commercial team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant Cost/Commercial discipline.
- Proficiency in communication.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Bluebeam.
- Solid commercial instincts, adept at managing high work volumes within client-driven timelines.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, take initiative, and embrace accountability.
- Proficient negotiation skills.
- Experience in tender pricing and contract modification.
- Valid driver's license.
