KL Talent Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading house builder, for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing project costs, procurement, and contract administration across multiple residential developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial efficiency throughout the construction process.
- Procurement & Contracts: Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiate contracts, and ensure best value is achieved.
- Valuations & Variations: Oversee valuations, approve subcontractor payments, and manage variations to maintain cost efficiency.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial and contractual risks, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and cost analyses to support decision-making.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within housebuilding or residential construction.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT, NEC) and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Degree in Quantity Surveying, RICS accreditation preferred).
