Description

My client is looking to recruit a Trainee Scheduler to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-focused, hands-on and eager to build a long-term career within a technical and specialist manufacturing environment.

The role of the Scheduler is to review customer enquiries, drawings, specifications and schedules before converting this information into detailed product schedules for quotation and manufacturing purposes. The process begins with a sales handover and continues through to the point where the order is passed across to purchasing and manufacturing teams, while also supporting projects throughout the production process.

This position is being offered as a trainee opportunity, with full training provided from the ground up. My client has extensive technical, product and industry expertise internally and is looking for someone they can develop within their own systems, processes and way of working. For this reason, they are not specifically seeking candidates from direct competitors or similar businesses, but rather individuals with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to understand customer requirements, interpret technical information and ensure schedules are prepared accurately and efficiently. You will learn how products are listed, scheduled, componented and built up for manufacture, while supporting the wider business with project coordination and administration throughout the process. This role would suit someone who enjoys being involved, taking ownership of tasks and working in a practical, hands-on way while developing technical knowledge and office-based skills.

My client is looking for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a natural ability to work carefully and diligently. Good Microsoft Office and Excel skills are essential, alongside strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop. The ideal candidate will be proactive, hands-on in their approach and keen to develop a detailed understanding of products, manufacturing processes and project coordination. This opportunity could particularly suit someone looking to transition from a manufacturing or production environment into an office-based role, although applicants from other backgrounds will also be considered if they demonstrate the right attitude and aptitude.

Benefits include:
• Salary of £25,000–£35,000 depending on experience
• Full training and development from the ground up
• Opportunity to build a long-term technical career
• Supportive and experienced team environment
• Exposure to specialist manufacturing and project support processes
• Career progression opportunities within the business
