KL Talent Solutions are proud to be partnering with a leading provider of affordable housing in the search for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Tyne and Wear.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take on a senior leadership role within a well-established business delivering affordable housing, regeneration, and residential developments across the region.
The Role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial and financial management of multiple projects while leading and supporting a team of Quantity Surveyors.
Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ensure effective cost control and commercial management across projects
- Support recruitment, mentoring, and development within the commercial team
- Manage subcontractor procurement and contractual matters
- Protect and maximise company commercial interests
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice across commercial operations
About You
- Proven experience in a Managing Quantity Surveyor or senior Quantity Surveying role
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Experience within affordable housing, regeneration, residential, or retrofit projects
- Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
