KL Talent Solutions is working with a client who is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team, working on schemes across the North East.
The successful candidate will provide valuable support to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor by assisting in day-to-day financial and cost control, as well as reporting on one or more developments from award through to completion. This includes client and sub-contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions, and completion of archive material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in project cost control procedures, including re-measurement of works/variations, stock inventories, and evaluation of interim/final accounts.
- Supporting the effective management of cash flow, including administration of allocated sub-contractor accounts as directed by the MQS/SQS/QS, while promoting strong relationships and dispute avoidance.
- Assisting in the compilation and maintenance of sub-contractor databases and records.
- Supporting the establishment of procurement programmes and enquiry lists alongside the MQS/SQS/QS.
- Attending and participating in meetings with internal and external project team members as required.
About You:
- Previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
- Construction knowledge, ideally within the housing sector.
- Understanding of contract administration and contractual obligations.
- Experience using COINS would be advantageous.
