KL Talent Solutions is proud to be supporting our client on their search for a Loading Team Manager at their Northamptonshire site. The Loading Team Manager is responsible for leading and supervising the loading team to ensure all inbound and outbound vehicles are loaded safely, accurately, and on time. The role focuses on people management, process control, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced logistics and distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

·      Lead, manage, and motivate the loading team to achieve daily dispatch targets

·      Plan and coordinate loading activities in line with transport schedules and production output

·      Ensure all vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely, correctly, and in accordance with load plans and company procedures.

·      Maintain high standards of health & safety, ensuring safe manual handling and equipment use

·      Monitor performance, attendance, and conduct of the loading team, carrying out appraisals and performance reviews

·      Provide hands-on support during peak periods to ensure service levels are maintained

·      Liaise closely with transport, warehouse, and production teams to resolve operational issues

·      Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to loading processes and workflows

·      Ensure accurate completion of paperwork and system updates related to dispatch and loading

·      Support training and development of team members, including new starters and refresher training

Skills & Experience

Essential:

·      Proven team management or supervisory experience within logistics, warehousing, or distribution

·      Strong understanding of loading operations, dispatch processes, and logistics workflows

·      Experience managing staff performance, rotas, and operational priorities

·      Good knowledge of health & safety requirements within a logistics environment

·      Strong communication and leadership skills

Desirable:

·      Class 1 (C+E) driving licence (optional but desirable)

·      Forklift Counterbalance licence (optional but desirable)

·      Experience working within a manufacturing or trade supply environment

·      IOSH or similar health & safety awareness qualification (optional but desirable)
