Description

Working for a busy food manufacturer - in conjunction with the Low Risk Manager, you will support, implement and lead the low risk department to ensure that procedures are established and followed for the day to day management and control of the teams

Key responsibilities of the job:

  • Ingredient preparation room supervision
  • Fridge management and stock control
  • Goods in - managing deliveries and the warehouse storage system
  • Regular stock takes ensuring correct rotation
  • Handling of raw materials and finished goods
  • Using computer software systems to transfer ingredients and stock around our production facilities
  • To ensure Company standards are maintained through laid down procedures and specifications
  • To work safely in accordance with site and departmental procedures, observing the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Food Safety Act 1990
  • Ensure all traceability procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintaining and adhering to the area GMP processes and ensuring audits are conducted

Key Skills:

  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Experience of carrying out return to work, disciplinary and absence review processes
  • Ability to liaise with colleagues in other departments and work beyond the intake area
  • Help establish a team that maintain control of raw material and finished goods throughout the factory so that service is maintained and constantly improved
  • To ensure Company standards are maintained through laid down procedures and specifications
  • Develop teams through mentoring, recognising potential, development of team skills and training
  • Planning of staff to ensure adequate staffing through rotas (on a daily basis) and training/recruitment (in the long term) where required for all positions
  • Demonstrate control of variable costs within area
  • Product count and control systems to ensure 100% of products can be made in high care first time
  • Flexibility and willingness to flex with the needs of the business
  • Team player and excellent leadership skills are essential
  • FLT experience is essential
  • 7.5t driving license desirable

This position is 5 out of 7 days so weekend availability is essential for the role.
