KL Talent Solutions are proud to be partnering with our client, a highly successful and privately owned logistics, construction, and maintenance business employing over 2,000 people across the UK. The company’s Logistics Division operates from multiple sites nationwide, providing integrated logistics solutions including warehousing, road and rail distribution, and supply chain management.
We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to join the team at their Leeds depot.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be anexperienced Transport Supervisor with a proven track record in managing and coordinating transport operations. This is a hands-on role that involves overseeing the day-to-day activities of the transport office, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant fleet operations.
A valid International Transport Manager CPC Qualification is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, manage, and lead the transport operations team
- Prioritise and allocate daily workloads to ensure efficient fleet utilisation
- Investigate and resolve operational or service disruptions, implementing corrective actions
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across the transport team
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee daily load planning and vehicle scheduling
- Conduct driver briefs and debriefs
- Manage tachograph compliance and monitor driver hours
- Liaise effectively with sub-contractors, suppliers, and internal departments
Skills and Experience
- Strong geographical knowledge of UK transport routes and associated planning considerations
- Sound understanding of HGV Drivers’ Working Time Regulations and Driver CPC legislation
- Proven experience supervising transport operations, ideally with articulated vehicles, curtain-sided and skeleton trailers
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Strong IT proficiency, including experience with logistics systems such as Road Runner, Falcon, and Autostore
- Effective communicator with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of performing under pressure
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office or equivalent systems
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shift
Flexibility required during peak operational periods
